Three Brands,
Three Visual Languages

This project explores three distinct visual directions developed in response to very different brand briefs: a Nordic university basketball team, a neighbourhood coffee shop, and a horror and thriller publishing house.

The objective was to translate each brand's audience, personality and purpose into intentional choices in colour and typography, while maintaining readability and accessibility.

The Challenge

01 / Different Audiences

Each brand speaks to people with different needs, expectations and motivations.

02 / Different Personalities

From energetic and academic, to warm and welcoming, to mysterious and intriguing.

03 / One Design Question

How can colour and typography create a distinct visual language for each?

Reflection

Designing from purpose,
not personal taste.

Working across three very different briefs reinforced the importance of designing from context rather than personal preference. Each direction began with the same questions: who is this for, what should it feel like, and how can colour and typography support that purpose?
