Website Redesign
Redesigning an existing website to make genetic testing services clearer, more approachable and easier to navigate.
MapMyGene offers genetic testing services around inherited talents and potential health risks. The client wanted the website to feel more modern, but the existing experience had become text-heavy and repetitive. Long navigation labels competed for space, similar information appeared in several places, and the two main tests were not always easy to distinguish at a glance.
The challenge wasn’t simply to make the website look more modern. It was to make a large amount of information easier to understand — helping users quickly see what MapMyGene offers, understand the difference between its tests, and find what they need without digging through dense content.
Streamlining access to resources and primary products.
Making scientific testing feel approachable and clear.
Structuring dense information with comfortable spacing.
Unifying typography and colors for premium editorial feel.
The final redesign brought the simplified structure, clearer product positioning and new visual system together into one cohesive experience.
Replace long service names in the primary navigation with a simpler structure. The new navigation — Home, About Us, Shop, Contact — reduces cognitive load immediately.
Break dense and repetitive information into clear, scannable sections. Give the content structure and breathing room without losing its depth.
A cleaner navigation and content hierarchy.
Helping users understand, compare and choose between genetic tests.
DNA-inspired graphics, warm neutrals and a restrained red accent create a consistent identity across the experience.
The redesigned website demonstrates how information architecture, content hierarchy and visual design can work together to make a complex service easier to understand — without oversimplifying the subject.
